MISSIONARIES

Milo and Rut have been influenced by every ministry SIBI has to offer. Milo is a graduate of AIM who served his field time in Mexico City, where he met Rut, who was converted to Christ there. After completing AIM, Milo and Rut were married and continued their spiritual training together at the Sunset International Bible Institute (SIBI), both graduating and going on to complete the School of Missions. Rut is fluent in sign language, both Mexican and American. After schooling this couple completed an internship with the Downtown congregation in Midland, Texas. Today, Milo serves as an evangelist and youth director in Mexico City, where he and Rut are faithfully ministering, discipling young people, and sharing the gospel with their community.

The Sunset Mission Committee is thrilled to announce an exciting new mission endeavor in Pachuca, Mexico. This effort is led by a team of three families trained at Baxter School of Biblical Studies in Honduras and prepared for the mission field through Great Cities Missions. Paul Dowell, along with mission committee members from Hillcrest in Abilene, accompanied the team on a survey trip last year in order to choose a location for this work. Pachuca was chosen. Pachuca is a beautiful city with a great openness and deep need for the gospel. Since work began in May 2025, the team has made initial contacts, rented a facility, and started weekly and personal Bible studies. A major community celebration is planned for September 7th, where the team will publicly announce their presence and mission to glorify God through teaching and preaching the gospel. Please join us in praying for this team as they embark on this important new work.

Israel and Nelly have been faithfully serving with Sunset Missions in Mexico for over 26 years, beginning their work in Mexico City. Their ministry has focused on church planting, leadership development, and discipleship, resulting in multiple thriving congregations. They now serve in Apaxco, Mexico, where the church will celebrate its 8-year anniversary in 2025. Their impact in Apaxco includes 162 baptisms, hosting 4 AIM teams, welcoming 7 church groups, and leading numerous marriage seminars that strengthen families and marriages. As their ministry continues to grow in this city, they are prayerfully working toward purchasing a permanent location for the church in Apaxco.

Gerardo and Carola Garcia are long-term missionaries serving in Mexico City, where Gerardo preaches for the Downtown congregation. Their ministry reaches far beyond the pulpit, as they lead impactful men’s and women’s spiritual retreats across Mexico, nurturing growth and unity among believers. Church life in their congregation thrives through small groups spread throughout the city, fostering close community and personal discipleship. Their evangelism efforts include benevolent outreach and intentional gospel sharing, meeting both physical and spiritual needs. As AIM Coordinators in Mexico City, they also play a vital role in mentoring and guiding the next generation of missionaries.

David and Olivia Nelson, along with their two sons, Caleb and Seth are faithfully serving at the Otomoti Church of Christ in Tauranga, New Zealand. In addition to their local ministry, David serves as a guest instructor at the school in Tauranga and as a chaplain in the New Zealand military, providing spiritual support and guidance. The Nelsons also serve as AIM Coordinators, mentoring and guiding young missionaries. Their heart for ministry is especially evident in their leadership of the youth and family ministry, where they are making a lasting impact on the next generation.

Meet our dedicated Sunset AIMers, faithfully serving in mission points around the world. Jadon is currently working in Apaxco, Mexico, bringing light and hope to the community there. Raider is serving in the vibrant city of Mexico City, while Matthew is making a difference in Monrovia, Liberia. Evelyn Molina is actively ministering in Cookeville, Tennessee, and Connor Baker is sharing the gospel in Tauranga, New Zealand. We are incredibly proud of the impact they’re making, and we look forward to welcoming two more AIMers to the field this fall.

Amador and Nicolasa were lovingly brought to Christ through the Downtown Church in Mexico City. With a deep passion for ministry, Amador pursued his Bible and ministry degree through TIBI, the Spanish-language associate school of SIBI. He completed a two-year internship under the mentorship of Gerardo, which further prepared him for the mission field. Today, Amador serves as an evangelist and church planter, having established a new congregation in Tecámac. The church now has a growing membership of 55 and continues to shine as a beacon of hope in the community.

Enrique and Lulu, along with Eder and Ana, were brought to Christ through the ministry of Israel Molina. Both Enrique and Eder pursued ministry training and are graduates of TIBI. After completing their studies, they served two-year internships under Israel’s mentorship. Today, they are full-time workers dedicated to discipleship and youth outreach. They assist Israel in every aspect of ministry, including evangelism, preaching, and meeting the spiritual needs of the congregation, playing vital roles in the growth and health of the church in Apaxco.

Peter, along with his wife Peace and their two daughters, Purity and Prudence, is serving faithfully as an evangelist for the Evrou congregation in Athens, Greece. In addition to his local ministry, Peter is an instructor at the school in Athens, equipping future leaders for the Kingdom. The family is actively involved in outreach and is currently engaging in discussions with DiscipleTrips to expand their evangelistic efforts. Their commitment to sharing the gospel and nurturing the church is a blessing to the community they serve.

Aaron and his wife Elizabeth have an inspiring story of transformation and service, having come to Christ through World Bible School.  They live in Buea, Cameroon. What began as a small gathering of three people in their home has grown into a thriving church with a membership of 250 to 300. Under their leadership, the church has become a hub for spiritual growth and education, hosting a school on their campus. Since 2011, the school has celebrated four graduating classes and now oversees 12 satellite schools. Their ministry continues to bear fruit, with 109 baptisms last year alone, six churches planted, and graduates actively serving in 16 congregations.
